Boston, MA, March 24, 2009 — Attorney David R. Yannetti has been named to the 2009 Martindale-Hubbell® Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers™, America’s most exclusive directory of lawyers for more than 90 years. The Bar Register includes only those select law practices that have earned the highest rating in the Martindale-Hubbell® Law Directory, the AV® certification rating, and have been designated by their colleagues as first-rate in their legal specialty. This recognition is reserved for the most accomplished and resolute ethical practitioners in the legal ranks.
The Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers adds a dimension of unique distinction in that it is the only peer selection of its kind where practitioners are designated by their colleagues as deserving paramount recognition. Fewer than 5% of law firms in America can boast this award.
This honor for ethical merit and legal ability comes on the heels of Attorney Yannetti being named a “Super Lawyer” in Boston Magazine for the second consecutive year and winner of the fourth annual “Battle of the Lawyers” event in Boston, for which he won the “Most Compelling Argument” award. The event, presented by Lawyers Weekly, showcases masterful legal minds re-creating their most memorable cases. Attorney Yannetti presented his dramatic closing argument in the murder case of a Massachusetts boy. His success in that forum was observed by members of the bar, press and local personalities.
Martindale-Hubble Ratings are the result of a peer-review system that has evolved for over a century and ratings reflect the opinions of members of the Bar and Judiciary. In large metropolitan areas, a lawyer must have been admitted to the bar for a minimum of 10 years before he or she qualifies.
The Martindale-Hubble rating consists of two parts. The first is the Legal Ability Rating which takes into consideration the standard of professional ability in the area where the lawyer practices and the lawyer’s expertise. The second part is the General Ethical Standards Rating which indicates a lawyer’s adherences to professional standards of conduct and ethics, reliability and diligence.
Attorney Yannetti is named to the 2009 Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers after an extraordinary series of successful headlining cases in recent years including the March, 2008 exoneration of a man who had unjustly served 16 years in jail for first-degree murder.
David Yannetti has maintained a highly regarded criminal defense practice in Boston since 1999. Before that, he served as an assistant district attorney and senior trial prosecutor in Middlesex County in Massachusetts for ten years.
“An AV Peer-Review Rating and inclusion in the prestigious Bar Registry are among the great accolades in the legal profession and I am honored and thrilled to receive them,” Attorney David Yannetti commented when reached at his desk in his Boston office this morning.
